Today I recommend: They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera.

In a near-future New York City where a service alerts people on the day they will die, teenagers Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio meet using the Last Friend app and are faced with the challenge of living a lifetime on their End Day.

I was hooked by the title alone, and I don’t think I will be the only one. Numerous people stopped to ask me what I was reading and what the book was about when they saw me carrying it around. This was a heart wrenching read because throughout the day no matter what they are doing Mateo and Rufus never forget (and never let you forget) that they are going to die by the end of the day. That aspect of the plot makes for a touching look at friendship as well as romantic relationships as Mateo and Rufus grow closer. This is one of my favorite reads of the whole year, I highly recommend it.

This book can be found in the Young Adult Fiction section at YA SILVERA.
