Today I recommend: Nimona by Noelle Stevenson.

This awesome graphic novel is about a female shapeshifter named Nimona who wants to help her favorite villain, Ballister Blackheart. Nimona just wants to kill everyone, never wanting to stick to the plan. Ballister never kills anyone, and always follows his own plans. So the two of them together cause a little more havoc than Ballister intends on. Ballister and Nimona are trying to prove to the kingdom that Sir Ambrosius Goldenloin (Ballisters arch-nemesis) and his buddies at the Institution of Law Enforcement and Heroics aren’t the heroes everyone thinks they are. They are making nuclear weapons with unsafe plant chemicals, and many other things. Will Ballister and Nimona prove that they are not really the bad guys, maybe the Institution is just as evil?

I loved this graphic novel so much. Its funny and clever. I have read it one and a half times. I do not recommend this book to young kids because there is violence and blood. My favorite character is Nimona because she is persistent and funny. One of my favorite quotes was when Ballister thinks Nimona is a goner, and Nimona is shape shifted into the institution leader, and is facetiming him. Ballister says,”Your a monster!” Nimona changes into a shark, freaks Ballister out and says, “no, I am a shark!” Noelle Stevenson has collaborated with many people on graphic novels. She collaborated and helped with LumberJanes, one of my favorite graphic novel series of all times. I recommend this book to people who like dark magic, humor and a little violence.
